For the second year in a row, the KITAR Department of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has been cooperating with the Biocenter at the University of Cologne, Germany.

Аnna Rudakova, a student of the Faculty of ACT, a student of the second (master’s) level of higher education under the educational and professional program «Computer-Integrated Technological Processes and Production» (CITPР), completed an internship at the University of Cologne as part of the project «InnoBioDiv/Plant-Ukraine».

On 9 December, the first stage of discussions took place regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Biomedical Engineering at ���ϲ����� and the French organisation HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL – Humanity & Inclusion with the aim of obtaining specialised equipment for prosthetics/orthotics and bioprinting.

The following representatives of the university took part in the meeting: Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at ���ϲ����� – Yuriy Romanenkov; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at ���ϲ����� – Murad Omarov, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering – Professor Oleg Avrunin, Professor of the Department – Dmytro Snizhko, Associate Professors of the Department – Tetiana Nosova and Karina Selivanova.

Under the guidance of our colleague, senior lecturer of the СITAR department Dmitry Aleksandrovich Nikitin, Nikita Papushya, a student of the 11th grade of Kharkiv Lyceum 62 and member of the departmental circle “3D Prototyping Laboratory”, completed a scientific paper on the topic “Development of a 3D printer with “Changing tools” technology”.

And according to the results of the defense of this project, Nikita took the prize, 3rd place, at the 2nd, All-Ukrainian stage of the competition of youth scientific and technical projects “InventorUA” from the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in the nomination “New materials and nanotechnologies».

In the period from December 1 to 4, 2024, the founding working meetings of the executors of the international project Security Education Center for Unified Resilience & Effective Communications – Erasmus Secure took place on the basis of the University of Aveiro (Portugal). The goal of the project is to implement EU best practices, frameworks and strategic documentation regarding 5G network security; development of new innovative courses on 5G network security; creation of an innovative educational and research center, which includes in each participating country three cross-connected virtual laboratories for the development of the 5G network; creation of the R&EHub platform for communication between academia, business, government and employment; teacher training and professional development of academic and administrative staff. It should be noted that the creation of research and education hubs in Georgia and Ukraine, linked to Portugal, Spain and Lithuania, will significantly accelerate the exchange of knowledge and capacity building, which will benefit the participating countries and the European Union in general.

Representatives of the universities of Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, Georgia and Ukraine took part in the working group. From Ukraine, employees of three leading universities actively worked in one team: Kyiv Aviation Institute State University, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, and Cherkasy State University of Technology. The head of the project is Professor Rui Aguiar from the Institute of Telecommunications (University of Aveiro, Portugal). The coordinator from Ukrainian universities is Prof. Odarchenko R.S. (dean of the faculty of the State University of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).KH���ϲ����� was represented by three professors of the department of V.V. Popovsky: prof. Yevdokymenko M.O. (coordinator from KH���ϲ�����), prof. Yeremenko O.S. and Prof. Lemeshko O.V.

Scientists from the Department of Biomedical Engineering – Professor Oleg Avrunin, Associate Professors Yana Nosova and Tetiana Nosova, together with industrialist Denys Kavun (a 2024 graduate of the Department’s Biomedical Engineering programme) received a joint copyright certificate for the work ‘Computer programme “Calculation of hosiery products” (“SOCKS v1.0″)” (authors Kavun D.V., Nosova Y.V., Nosova T.V., Avrunin O.G., Kopot M.A.).

Scientists from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, in collaboration with industrialists, received a copyright certificate for the work. The registered computer program is designed for the automatic selection of characteristics of hosiery products for the formation of a technological map (including the class of knitting machine, number of knitting rows in each section of the developed model to achieve the required linear dimensions of the product) based on three foot parameters: instep height, foot length and foot width.

Every year, on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated, proclaimed in 1992 by a resolution of the UN General Assembly.

Since 2024, the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics has been operating the Accessibility to Learning Opportunities Service “���ϲ����� without Limits”. The service was created on the basis of a special educational and rehabilitation department for supporting students with special educational needs, which has been operating since 2009. The accessibility service provides accurate and comfortable access to educational opportunities for students with special educational needs.

Against all odds, shelling and destruction, our University continues to fight for a clean world, for the preservation of everything around us. An integral part of this movement towards victory is the collection of waste, in particular, waste paper, plastic caps, used batteries.

As you know, finger and watch batteries, mobile phone batteries and the like make up a very small percentage of waste, but are among the ‘record holders’ in terms of pollution. Other hazards include the presence of mercury, lithium, cadmium, zinc, lead, other heavy metals and alkalis in batteries. Therefore, these batteries should never be disposed of in ordinary garbage cans, they need to be recycled separately. Containers for them are available in most supermarkets, petrol stations, near the ASC, etc.).

From 07.10 to 25.10, senior lecturers of the department of systems engineering Svitlana Ponomaryova and Nadiya Kalaida together with assistant professor of the department of microelectronics, electronic devices and devices Oksana Babichenko took part in the development of a VR application under the project Wildau-Kharkiv-IT-Bridge-III / Wildau-Kharkiv IT Bridge III (DAAD Program Ukraine digital, Ensuring study success in times of crisis / DAAD Program Ukraine digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis).

The team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was invited to the Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences (Germany) to jointly develop a virtual laboratory that can be used to train students in conditions of lack of access to the university’s physical laboratories. In the virtual laboratory, students will be able to familiarize themselves with and conduct experiments using the latest development of the HyPhoX company.
