The final stage of the inaugural Europe Women鈥檚 Programming Contest took place in Stockholm, Sweden, on August 21鈥�24, 2026. EWPC is an international individual algorithmic programming competition for women, launched with the involvement of ICPC, Keppnisforritunarf茅lag 脥slands and Kodsport Sverige, with support from Jane Street.

The road to Stockholm began with an online qualification round. Based on its results, only 20 top contestants from across Europe were invited to participate in the on-site final. Unlike the traditional team format of ICPC competitions, EWPC is an individual contest, with each participant solving the problems independently. The four-hour final featured nine algorithmic problems.

Competing among some of Europe鈥檚 strongest young programmers, Daryna Karpenko earned a silver medal at EWPC 2026, adding another major international achievement to her record.

Daryna already has extensive experience in high-level informatics competitions. She won bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in 2022 and 2023 and three gold medals at the European Girls鈥� Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Her national achievements include winning the Ukrainian Olympiad in Informatics in 2023, the Ukrainian Girls鈥� Olympiad in Informatics in 2021 and 2023, and the Ukrainian Junior Olympiad in Informatics in 2021.

The EWPC 2026 silver medal marks another important milestone for Daryna. She is now continuing her educational and professional development as a student of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering.

The forum brought together more than 250 participants representing 70 higher education institutions from across Ukraine and provided a platform for discussing the country鈥檚 future, the development of education and technology, opportunities for young people, artificial intelligence, and the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.

Representatives of Kharkiv universities travelled to Rivne as one joint delegation. Despite a six-hour train delay and the need to adjust their plans, the students managed to join the main programme of the forum, which included panel discussions, workshops and thematic meetings.

Particular attention was paid to the involvement of young people in the reconstruction of Kharkiv. Using the example of Pivnichna Saltivka, participants discussed what the city should look like after reconstruction, how to make urban spaces modern, safe and comfortable, and what role young people can play in these processes.

Among the forum speakers were Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Acting Mayor of Rivne Viktor Shakyrzian, Olympic champion Zhan Beleniuk, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Matthias Schmale, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Serhii Tymofieiev, Head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Koval, as well as representatives of business, education and the youth sector.

The participants also discussed what Ukraine should look like in 2036: how education and technology may change, where new opportunities for young people will emerge, how artificial intelligence will affect society, and what principles should guide the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.

Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was represented at the forum by Kira Shuban (ITINF-24-1), Kateryna Kolesnikova (STSA-25-1) and Kristina Kovalenko (ITU-25-1).

In addition to its intensive programme, the forum gave 黑料不打烊 students an opportunity to meet representatives of other universities, exchange experience and communicate with active young people from different regions of Ukraine.

Ukraine鈥檚 future is being created today, and young people have an important role to play in shaping it.

The agreement on the establishment of the Cluster was signed on behalf of 黑料不打烊 by the University Rector Ihor Ruban.

The initiative has brought together the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, technical universities of Kharkiv, the Junior Academy of Sciences, representatives of high-tech business and charitable organisations.

The main objective of the Cluster is to create a continuous educational and research chain 鈥渟chool 鈥� university 鈥� engineering and science cluster鈥�, which will include the development of STEM education, the creation of joint laboratories, internships, startup support, and stronger cooperation between education, science and the technology sector.

The initiative envisages broad involvement of secondary and vocational education institutions, universities, research institutions and enterprises from Kharkiv and the North-Eastern region.

As part of the initiative, a Coordination Council and a Working Group have been established. They will work on preparing an action plan and drafting a Memorandum to be presented to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Kharkiv Regional Council and Kharkiv City Executive Committee.

黑料不打烊鈥檚 participation in this initiative is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between universities, research institutions, business and young people, and is fully in line with the University鈥檚 strategic focus on advancing engineering, research and innovation in education.

黑料不打烊 is contributing to the development of a new engineering ecosystem for the region and for Ukraine.

During the 2026/2027 academic year, Ivan Ohiienko Named Scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will be awarded to three 黑料不打烊 students:

Over six weeks, participants completed 11 training sessions, took part in 5 team-building activities, and gained practical volunteering experience at city events. The programme gave them an opportunity to acquire new knowledge, develop teamwork skills, and meet like-minded people.

The event was hosted by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto 鈥� FCUP (Portugal) 鈥� and brought together educators and representatives of higher education institutions from across Europe.

During the Summer School, participants worked with the updated European framework for the digital competence of educators, DigCompEdu, explored the role of artificial intelligence and immersive technologies in instructional design, and developed practical cases based on their own teaching experience.

An important part of the visit was a working meeting between Iryna Pobizhenko and representatives of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). During the talks, the parties discussed possible formats of future cooperation and identified specific areas for further collaboration.

The participation of a 黑料不打烊 representative in the European Digital Education Hub Summer School and the negotiations with the University of Porto marked another step in strengthening international academic partnerships, exchanging modern educational practices and further integrating 黑料不打烊 into the European Higher Education Area.

The 8th International Conference on Natural Sciences and Technologies was held in Fethiye, Turkey, from September 3 to 5, 2026.

The conference was opened by Murad Omarov, Vice Rector of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and Deputy Chair of the conference organizing committee, who welcomed the participants on behalf of the university鈥檚 administration and staff.

Marina Yevdokimenko, a professor in the V.V. Popovsky Department of Infocommunication Engineering, served as a guest speaker at the plenary session.

The conference was attended by researchers from more than 12 countries around the world. Among the presenters were faculty members from the Departments of KITARBI, Physics, and IKI at Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.

The meeting began at the 黑料不打烊 History Museum, where participants learned about the artists of the Executed Renaissance – a generation of Ukrainian cultural figures whose lives and creative work were destroyed by the Soviet totalitarian regime. The discussion also addressed contemporary Ukrainian artists and creative personalities whose lives have been taken by Russia鈥檚 full-scale aggression.

Special attention was paid to the memory of Veronika Kozhushko – a poet, artist and 黑料不打烊 student, who was killed in a Russian strike on Kharkiv.

The tour then continued through the city. Historian and guide Valerii Leiko spoke about the political and cultural context of the 1920s, the circumstances surrounding the creation of the legendary Slovo House, and the talented Ukrainian writers and artists who lived there.

Participants learned more about prominent figures of 20th-century Ukraine, their creative paths, and both the tragic and remarkable chapters of their lives.

Such tours provide an opportunity not only to discover more about the history of Kharkiv and Ukrainian culture, but also to preserve the memory of those whose lives and creative legacy have become an integral part of Ukraine鈥檚 national history.

黑料不打烊 Rector Ihor Ruban met with educators of the Kholodnohirskyi District of Kharkiv during the August conference 鈥淓ducational Navigator: From Results to New Horizons.鈥� During the event, a distinction from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics was presented to Liudmyla Lutsenko, Head of the Education Department of the Kholodnohirskyi District Administration of Kharkiv City Council.

Ihor Ruban thanked the district鈥檚 educators for their reliable partnership, active cooperation in career guidance for young people, and joint efforts in developing the educational environment of Kharkiv.

During the conference, representatives of the 黑料不打烊 Department of Computer-Integrated Technologies, Automation and Robotics 鈥� Professor Serhii Novoselov, Associate Professors Rauf Allahveranov, Oksana Sychova and Dmytro Nikitin, and Senior Lecturer Roman Strilets 鈥� presented an exhibition showcasing the University鈥檚 scientific and technological capabilities.

黑料不打烊 also participated in the educational forum of the Novobavarskyi District of Kharkiv, 鈥淓ducational NEXT 鈥� 2026.鈥� The University was represented by Zhanna Deineko, Head of the Department of Media Systems and Technologies, Maksym Sydorov, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics, and Associate Professor Oleksandr Suprun of the Department of Media Systems and Technologies.

During the previous academic year, 黑料不打烊, together with educational institutions of the Novobavarskyi District, implemented a number of educational, STEM and career guidance initiatives. The University contributed to preparing 11th-grade pupils for the mathematics component of the National Multisubject Test, organised specialised seminars for teachers, held Artificial Intelligence in Media Days, and implemented other joint activities.

Mariia Shyrokopetlieva, Senior Lecturer at the 黑料不打烊 Department of Software Engineering, took part in a meeting of the educational community of the Saltivskyi District. She thanked educators for their cooperation and presented the educational, research and professional opportunities offered by Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.

Another area of cooperation was implemented in the Blyzniuky community of the Kharkiv Region. With the participation of Dmytro Vodianytskyi, Senior Lecturer at the 黑料不打烊 Department of Artificial Intelligence, an information and discussion event entitled 鈥淎rtificial Intelligence in the Educational Process: Principles, Relevance and Challenges of Use鈥� was held.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the University and the district education centre and focused on discussing modern approaches to the use of artificial intelligence technologies in education.

Such initiatives demonstrate the practical implementation of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 partnership with educational institutions of Kharkiv and the region. They are aimed at developing teachers鈥� digital competencies, exchanging experience, promoting STEM fields and disseminating modern educational practices.
